Spring has arrived!

Spring has arrived!

March 20, 2023

Today is the first day of spring-which means it's time to do some spring cleaning! What better way to welcome the warmer weather than making your house sparkle? We have put together a guide of simple tips to get your house feeling brand new.

  1. Wash windows: Pro tip, wash your windows on a cloudy day to ensure there are no streaks from the sun hitting them.
  2. Dust light fixtures (lightbulbs too) and fans: With the weather warming up, ceiling fans will be back in use and no one wants dust to fly all over the room.
  3. Dust top of door frames: Speaking of dust, make sure to dust those hard-to-reach places that are often out of sight (door frames, blinds, shelving etc...)
  4. Wipe down & organize fridge: Life gets busy and we don’t always have time to wipe down our refrigerators. You can do this by using hot soapy water or by making a solution of 3 parts hot water and one part vinegar.
  5. Deep clean your washer: Did you know you are supposed to clean your washer? This includes cleaning the rubber gaskets in the washer with some type of solution such a vinegar. Washers can often hold mold/mildew if not properly cared for.
  6. Change filters: This would be a great time to change any water filters, furnace filters etc…
  7. Safety first: Replace any smoke detector batteries and any burnt-out light bulbs.

For the outside:

Finally, it’s time to enjoy the outdoors!

  1. Clean outside door frames: Get rid of any dirt, bugs (eew) and dust.
  2. Clean the grill: Get your grill ready for those family BBQs!
  3. Clean outdoor furniture: Remove the grime from storing it over the winter.
  4. Clean out those gutters: If you do not feel comfortable doing this yourself, there are plenty of companies that will come clean your gutters and get them looking brand new.
  5. Garage: Organize your garage and decide if there is anything that can be donated/sold. Spring is a great time to host a garage sale.

This list is not intended to do in one day and is more so to give you a starting place of spring cleaning. Pick and choose which task you would like to do each week. We recommend you make a schedule to ensure each task gets completed. Your house will thank you for the reset!
