Waukesha is a City in Wisconsin with a population of 72,173. Waukesha offers a suburban feel with a wide variety of amenities. There are many parks in Waukesha, one of the most popular parks is the Retzer Nature Center. The Retzer Nature Center offers guided and self-guided scenic tours. Pewaukee Lake is the largest lake in Waukesha County. You will find three public boat launches, fishing, sailing, canoeing, and so much more at Pewaukee Lake! You will also find many dining options as well as shopping as you make your way through Waukesha. The Shoppes at Fox River feature restaurants such as Buffalo Wild Wings and Chilli’s, and many different stores including Target and Pick N Save.
Downtown Waukesha is a bustling area offering many shops and restaurants including a wine bar, paint studio, joke shop, sushi restaurant, hotel and so much more. Downtown Waukesha hosts Art Crawls, Friday Night Lights, Farmers Markets, Halloween Business Trick or Treat, and many parades for special occasions.
Waukesha is also the birthplace of legendary guitarist and pioneer of the solid-body electric guitar, Les Paul. To commemorate that, you will find many murals and sculptures featuring guitars around the city. Waukesha also hosts many events at the Waukesha County Expo Center including the Waukesha County Fair, the oldest county fair in Wisconsin.
