Discover Sussex
Voted one of the best places to live in Waukesha County, Sussex, Wisconsin is a hidden gem. It provides a small-town atmosphere with easy access to Hwy 41/45. Sussex is home to more than 270 acres of park property which is divided into 15 different parks. One of the parks, Madeline Park features open land with a playground and connects to the popular Bugline Trail. Madeline Park conveniently features a bike repair station just in case something happens to your bike. The Bugline trail is 16 miles long and is a great trail for bike riding, running, and walking. Throughout the trail you will run into neighborhoods, neighborhood parks and industrial areas. The trail today is set on the former route of the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul Railroad Company. At one point the train carried freight for the Lannon Quarry. Between the Lannon Quarry, the wildlife, and breathtaking views, the Bugline Trail is a must see in Sussex. If you enjoy disc golf, Sussex is home to an 18-hole disc golf course at Village Park. The Village of Sussex works hard to provide family fun events throughout the year. Every year they host a sledding party, a bunny lunch, a classic car cruise night, a tree lighting ceremony, and so much more. Visit the Summer Farmers Market at the Civic Center Plaza. There you will find fresh produce, locally made crafts, and plenty of great food. Open from June to October, the Sussex Farmers Market is a great place to bring your family for a fun day out. Conveniently situated between Madison and Milwaukee, Sussex is a great location for families to call home.
